*Jon Pardi is RED HOT today…because for the 1st time in his 4-year career, the Northern California kid is at the top of Country Music mountain! Released in mid-September of last year, “Head Over Boots” from his 2nd album California Sunrise is #1 this week. His previous chart record for a single was “Up All Night” at #10 in 2013.

** Dan & Shay‘s Shay Mooney is also hot today because he got engaged over the weekend to former Miss Arkansas USA Hannah Billingsley! Before hitting the road with Chris Young this fall, we all hope to hear more abut this Saturday night at their show in Tinley Park. The 25-year-old Fort Smith, AR native immediately took to Instagram & Twitter on Friday with the news:

***Chicago Olympians on Team USA have been hot since August 5th and continue to pursue medals in Brazil through Sunday. But the most decorated locals so far have been in the pool. Palos Height’s Kevin Murphy is a master of the backstroke, winning 3 gold medals this past week. Winnetka’s Conor Dwyer, now known for helping save Michael Phelps, swam freestyle to a gold and bronze medal. Valpo’s Blake Pieroni, Olivia Smoliga from Chicago, and Naperville’s Kevin Cordes all came away with Gold for Team USA in the water as well. This week’s events include track & field, volleyball, and wrestling. Keep up to date with all the local athletes in Rio with Chicago’s NBC 5 local Olympics coverage.

****What’s Hot Extras If the big rains on Friday turned you away from the Tinley Park Toby Keith show, he’s bringing his Interstates & Tailgates tour back soon to the Midwest- 9/9 in Indy and 9/10 in St. Louis. And Luke Bryan tickets for his 8/27 Wrigley Field show are up for grabs all week long on US*99!
